Partly due to this the index fell yesterday 5.89 points to close at 1,528.75 on a volume of 7.600 shares worth a total of $137,933.

Shares in the Bank of Butterfield fell 25 cents to close at $16.75 and Belco also dropped slightly -- 5 cents -- to close at $21.70.
