Man hit by car, beaten
their car, then got out and beat him up before fleeing the scene.
The man suffered serious head injuries and was last night in the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Hospital.
Spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said the man was struck from behind by a white Daihatsu Charade shortly after midnight yesterday as he was walking along Happy Valley Road near the junction with Shelton Road in Pembroke.
He was thrown over the hood of the car, smashed the windscreen and landed on the roof before falling to the road.
P.c. Venning said the car apparently continued and collided with a parked car.
The two passengers in the car were believed to have gotten out and assaulted the injured man, then got back into the car and sped away in a westerly direction.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Hamilton CID at 295-0011.
