Police said the mishap took place early yesterday morning on Somerset Road, opposite Martha's Dress Shop.

The man was riding west on Somerset Road when he rounded a right-hand bend, mounted a sidewalk and fell to the ground.

The man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for the fractured neck and road rash.
