Teenager robbed
Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said the 17-year-old victim was walking in the area around 4 p.m. on Thursday when two men attacked him.
The victim was pushed to the ground and held while the offenders searched him and stole his money.
The youth, who said one of the men had a broken bottle, suffered slight injuries to his neck.
Police arrested an 18-year-old Pembroke man in connection with the robbery and would like any witnesses to contact Central CID at 295-0011.
THIEF CAUGHT CRM Thief caught Visitors chased down a youth who snatched another visiting couple's bag while they were relaxing on Horseshoe Beach.
Police said the incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Thursday.
The couple were lying on the beach with their belongings surrounding them when a 16-year-old male walked close to them, dropped his T-shirt on top of the bag and took the bag while picking up his shirt.
Visitors detained the offender until Police arrived.
MAN ARRESTED CRM Man arrested Police arrested a Pembroke man who snatched cash from a betting shop.
The 28-year-old man reportedly approached the counter of the Sea Horse Betting Shop on Queen Street, shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday.
While the cash register was open he allegedly grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and ran from the premises.
After making inquiries, Police arrested the accused who is expected to appear in Magistrates' Court for the incident.
ROAD CLOSED TFC Road closed The Ministry of Works & Engineering announced that there will be a road closed in Pembroke today for the annual Friswell's Hill Community Day.
From noon until 7.30 p.m., Friswell's Road to the junction of Roberts Avenue in Pembroke will be closed to traffic.
