On Monday morning, Trott of Kitty's Lane, Hamilton Parish stood in Magistrates' Court to face six charges concerning the incident.

Later that afternoon the Attorney General's Chambers added the more serious charge, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.

Trott was not required to plead to the indictable charges, which will be tried in Supreme Court.

The other charges include unlawful wounding of a Police officer on the early morning of September 15, unlawfully wounding Sgt. Beech with intent do him grievous bodily harm and assaulting Sgt. Beech.
