Girls in Training banquet
banquet this evening.
Spokesperson Crystal McGowan told The Royal Gazette that organisation was founded roughly fifty years ago by Margaret Goodwin at Wesley Methodist Church.
"We try to bring out the best in young girls between the ages of 11 and 18 or 19-years-old,'' Ms McGowan said.
She said the group did a lot of fund raising activities in the community and provided the girls with an opportunity to travel abroad. Past trips have included voyages to Germany, France, Canada and a Caribbean cruise.
This evening's banquet will get underway at 7.30 p.m. at Wesley Methodist Church and will feature Canadian guest speaker Dorthey MacNeill. Tickets for the festivities will be available at the Christian Bookstore or from Bermuda Girls in Training members. For more information contact Wesley Methodist Church.
