three-day conference.

The convention, which ran from July 12 to 14, was held in the BAA Gymnasium and saw some 690 delegates attend from the US and Bermuda.

Wien Lindsay, of the Somerset congregation told The Royal Gazette that the conference had two goals.

"The first is to encourage those who are already dedicated,'' Mr. Lindsay said.

"The second goal is to attract newer ones to take up the Bible.'' He said this year's theme, entitled "Messengers of Godly Peace'', was trying to promote spiritual unity.

Mr. Lindsay said the highlights of the convention were the Saturday morning baptism of new members, the Sunday morning Bible drama and the afternoon public discourse.

He added that last Friday's family programme was very useful and practical.

The conference also saw the release of the new book entitled, The Secret of Family Happiness and copies were released to all who attended.

Mr. Lindsay also pointed out that the convention also provided the five Bermudian congregations a chance to all come together in fellowship.
