Evening of music in old Victoria Park

The Bank of Butterfield & Son Ltd. is co-sponsoring a concert in Victoria Park this Friday, not the Bank of Bermuda as reported in Saturday's newspaper.

Bermudians are invited to spend an evening of music under the stars to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the Victoria Park bandstand.

The newly renovated bandstand was originally built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.

The Bank of Bermuda, together with the Corporation of Hamilton, is sponsoring a Concert in the Park to encourage more public use of the park.

The festivities include modern, upbeat music played by the Bermuda Regiment Band, the Somerset Brigade Band and the Bermuda Islands 247 Pipe Band.

Organisers say a special appearance by the Gombeys promises to be the highlight of the evening.

All are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the free concert in Victoria Park on July 26 at 7.30 p.m.
