declared: "I always try to be fair.'' Mr. Scott, 47, proved he was as good as his word when he returned a knapsack to a tourist. He found it on the roadside last Tuesday while cleaning his taxi on Pompano Drive near the Port Royal Golf Course.
Called to pick up a passenger, he didn't have time to take it to the Police.
Instead he left it at the Sandys Taxi Co. Ltd., where it was placed among the "lost and found'' items.
The Canadian owner, a Dr. Knox, later retrieved the knapsack after placing an advertisement in The Royal Gazette , offering a reward.
Grateful, he sent a thank-you letter to Mr. Scott, enclosing the $25.
