Fuel spill contained in harbour

into Hamilton Harbour when a Royal Navy warship was refuelling.
Marine Police and sailors from HMS Campbeltown isolated the leak using floating booms at either side of the ship at Number One dock and cleaned up the oil using absorbent pads.
A Harbour Radio spokesman said some of the fuel escaped while the ship was taking fuel by hose from a dockside truck but dispersed naturally.
