Hal Young, 21, and Moreland McNeil, 26, of Toronto, Canada both pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis between them.

Police prosecutor Inspector Peter Duffy said Customs discovered a brown pellet containing 2.7 grams of cannabis in Young's jacket pocket during a search at the Civil Air Terminal on April 7.

X-rays at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital showed mysterious objects in their intestines but as these could not be identified, the men were released.

Three days later manager of a Pembroke guest house contacted Police after discovering a plastic bag containing pellets in the men's room.

Police made a search and found pellets containing 18.1 grams of cannabis and men's underpants soiled with faeces.

Yesterday McNeil admitted possessing cannabis on that occasion but Young pleaded not guilty.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. William Francis fined Young $300. McNeil received a maximum fine of $1000.

Mr. Francis told the men they were lucky more serious charges had not been laid against them.
