Flatts Village was stabbed in an armed robbery on Wednesday night.

The 18-year-old victim told Police the robber arrived at the station shortly after 8.30 p.m., went inside to the counter and asked for money.

He then demanded that the cash register be opened, produced a knife and threatened the cashier.

As the cashier opened the register, the robber stabbed him in the back with the knife. He then picked up the register and fled.

The cashier was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and spent two nights in the Intensive Care Unit before being released yesterday.

Shortly after the robbery, Police received information that the robber had escaped in a car.

Eastern CID immediately began an active investigation and an hour later, Police arrested two men in Pembroke and seized a vehicle they believed was used in the escape.

One of the men arrested is an 18 year-old St. George's resident, while the second is 29 and lives in Devonshire.

And yesterday morning a third suspect -- a 20-year-old Pembroke man -- was arrested and is directly assisting Police with their enquiries.

Eastern CID is continuing its investigations, and is renewing its appeal for any witnesses to come forward with information.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with a group of fishermen who were at the dock near to the station at the time of the incident.
