The Ministry of Finance has issued a writ against lawyer Mr. Charles Vaucrosson for $284,765.93 and against lawyer Mr. Julian Hall for $160,186.36.

Both writs refer to claims for unpaid hospital levies, employment tax and arrears for social insurance contributions.

Last night Mr. Hall said the amount was "very much'' disputed and Mr.

Vaucrosson said he had not received the writ and could not comment.

However, Finance Minister the Hon. David Saul, said: "When people owe the Government money we fully appreciate that they put us at the bottom of the list of their creditors.

"We liaise with those people to try and get a schedule of repayments. If they fail to work with us we will automatically take out a writ.'' Mr Hall said: "It is to do with back taxes but the figure is very much being disputed. It is based on a complete misunderstanding.'' Yesterday, Mr Vaucrosson said he had not received the writ and therefore could not comment on its contents.

The Ministry also issued writs against: Jeffleen Construction Company Limited for $42,435.87; Darrell Contractor Services Ltd. for $176,978.67.

Imperial Airlines Limited for $108,055.42; Supreme Security Services Limited $56,955.86; and Mr. Stephen DeSilva for $74,429.56.
