$600 in Magistrates' Court for possessing cannabis and drug equipment.
Michael Elsas, 27, of Connecticut, pleaded guilty to possessing 4.6 grams of cannabis and cigarette papers when he arrived in Bermuda on May 1.
The court heard that the drugs were found in Elsas' pants pocket during a search at the Civil Air Terminal. The cigarette papers were found in his wallet.
Duty counsel Mr. Tim Marshall said Elsas admitted that it was a stupid thing to do.
He said Elsas' new bride "was not very pleased'' with him.
And Mr. Marshall pointed out that Elsas cooperated during the search and has no convictions in Bermuda nor Connecticut.
"He acknowledges that it was a very stupid thing to do,'' he said.
