A few "individual closures'' in January and February will be staggered to keep the area alive all week long but the majority of businesses and attractions have decided to stay open for the next three months, said development manager of the West End Development Company (WEDCO), Mr. Ed Williams.

He added that everything would be open on Sundays.

Mr. Williams said the plan "will keep our visitors entertained whatever the day and whatever the weather,'' something that WEDCO views as particularly important in attracting visitors to the West End.

The Frog & Onion Pub, the Art Centre, and a few shops in the Clocktower shopping mall will be closed on Mondays in order to be open all weekend.

"It's a great way to start what is obviously going to be an important year to all of us involved in the tourism industry,'' said Mr. Williams.
