New regulations at Number One car park

area in the wake of the successful opening of the Bull's Head multi-storey car park.

This will come into effect on Monday and will be part of a number of changes the Corporation of Hamilton will be making to the city's parking regulations.

These include the extension of the two hour parking bays in City Hall car park, the addition of one hour parking bays in the north of Hamilton and the introduction of the new residential parking system.

The two hour parking bays in City Hall car park will now extend along its west side to Victoria Street. More one hour parking bays will be added in the north of the city to provide more parking for the businesses there.

The new residential parking system will provide special parking areas in the north of the city which will be reserved for the sole use of residents with special permits between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Motorists parking in these areas without a permit will be liable to receive a $50 ticket. The permits are available at City Hall and will be provided free to residents with a need to park on the street during the day.
