Far off missionary has message of miracles
Francis Patton Primary students were paid a visit from a far away visitor with a mission yesterday.
Nigerian missionaries Dr. Joshua Ekpikhe and wife Elizabeth were the guests of honour at the school's morning assembly.
Dr. Ekpikhe is visiting the Island to give a lecture at Crawl Gospel Hall tomorrow about the work that he and his wife do in Nigeria to spread the word of God.
"Dr. Ekpikhe is supported by some Christians on the Island,'' said Jennifer Fubert, an organiser of the visit.
"We need to know what God is doing in other countries and Dr. Ekpikhe was a good fit.'' At Francis Patton the students listened as Dr. Ekpikhe told stories about his experiences in Nigeria and the miracles he had witnessed.
They were also taught and sand a Nigerian song of empowerment before reciting the school creed and singing the school song to their visitors.
Dr. Ekpikhe is the Director of the Christian Witness Team Inc. in Nigeria, an organisation that is dedicated to the distribution of Christian literature and spreading the word of God.
Dr. Ekpikhe has written `Fire in the Bush', a biography of his life and the many things he has witnessed as a missionary.
Dr. Ekpikhe will be speaking at Crawl Gospel Hall, Hamilton Parish, on tomorrow at 7 p.m.
