Consistent Zelkin win title

final round 77 to win the 18-21 age group at the Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions in Ohio.

The 18-year-old was a picture of consistency as he led from start to finish, carding three identical 77s for a three-round total of 231.

He was tied for first with fellow Bermudian Adam Tufts, who also shot a 77, after the first round but Tufts could not maintain the pace and dropped to fourth following scores of 80 and 81 for the second and third rounds giving him 238 for the week.

Presenting no favours was the difficult par 72 course which had been adversely affected by torrential rains, which left greens soft and heavy, and fairways thick.

Also competing was Chris Garland (15-17 age group) who placed third with a 234 total. He was fourth overall out of 40, Zelkin third and Tufts seventh.

STEADY -- Duncan Zelkin fired three 77s.
