the World Rugby Classic, was this week included in a list of all-time greats at an awards ceremony in London.

McBride was among 15 players inducted to the Rugby Hall of Fame before a gathering of 750 guests from around the world. Top rugby writers and commentators from 11 countries drew up the list.

Five of those chosen have played in Bermuda, primarily in the Easter Classic; McBride (Ireland), Mike Gibson (Ireland), Tony O'Reilly (Ireland), Gareth Edwards (Wales), JPR Williams (Wales). The remainder of the group, which surprisingly did not include any players from Scotland or England, were: Cliff Morgan (Wales), Barry John (Wales), Frik du Preez (S.Africa), Dannie Craven (S.Africa), Colin Meads (N.Zealand), George Nepia (N.Zealand), Serge Blanco (France), Jean Pierre Rives (France), Mark Ella (Australia) and Hugo Porta (Argentina).
