Everyone had a great time
Thursday night, Mayor Lois Perinchief said last night.
"We had a fantastic time,'' Mrs. Perinchief said. "It turned out nicely and there was a big crowd and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.
Mrs. Perinchief said while there were many youths, both supervised and unsupervised, there were no repeats of rowdy behaviour like the 1997/1998 celebration.
Earlier this week Mrs. Perinchief appealed for an end to louts causing problems and promised a significant Police presence.
She said: "It was routine. There were lots of young people milling around and enjoying themselves. There were quite a number of older people watching the entertainment too.'' Mrs. Perinchief added: "It was excellent. The fireworks were terrific and Legacy were fantastic. Linda Johnston did a fantastic job this year.''
