Teen injured in RTA

A collision between an auxilary cycle and a car at Flatts Village yesterday morning resulted in traffic hold-ups and minor injury to a 15-year-old girl passenger on the cycle.

A passenger on an auxiliary cycle suffered an ankle injury after the cycle she was riding pillion on was involved in a collision with a car at Flatts Village on Wednesday morning.

The 15-year-old girl from St. George?s was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to a minor injury to her right ankle and was later released.

Police believe the auxiliary cycle was being driven along Harrington Sound Road when it reached the junction with Middle Road and was involved in a collision with a silver-coloured Suzuki car.

The driver of the cycle, a 16-year-old Southampton girl, was not hurt and neither was the 27-year-old Hamilton Parish woman driving the Suzuki or a three-year-old child passenger in the car.

The collision, shortly before 8.30 a.m., caused traffic hold-ups in the area until Police arrived to deal with the incident.
