Prevention centre planned

The Prevention Resource Centre is set to open at the Stables on Reid Street East on September 25 -- providing residents with information and materials that help stop abuse of alcohol, drugs and tobacco.

The scheme is the brainchild of the Centre for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, and has received funding from the National Drug Commission and the Council Partners Charitable Trust.

CADA said the centre will play a huge role in disseminating information to the community.

CADA associate director Cathy Belvedere said: "The mission of the Prevention Resource Centre is to build a stronger, healthier Bermuda, by providing access to resources and services that prevent alcohol, tobacco and other drug problems.'' The centre will offer literature, workshops, training and a website. Admission will be free.
