misleading the Country over plans for the new Tourism Authority.

Mr. Allen said Tourism Minister David Dodwell was being deliberately misleading when he said the authority had been approved by Parliament.

"The fact of the matter is that no legislation has to date been brought to the House of Assembly to set up a statutory corporation such as a Tourism Authority,'' Mr. Allen said.

"There has been no debate on the detail of the setting up of such an authority. Yet the UBP Government has gone ahead and retained the services of yet another Canadian firm.

"The facts also stand in stark contradiction to Mr. Dodwell's statement that no jobs will be lost in the proposed transfer of functions to an authority.

"The UBP and its Tourism Minister need to make a clean breast of it to the people of this country when it comes to their plans. To do otherwise is to make a mockery of any claims to be working in partnership with all in the community.'' Mr. Dodwell said he would respond to Mr. Allen's claims with a fresh statement and "once again put all the cards on the table''.
