In the only other trade, Belco's seven percent bonds rose slightly in trading worth $2,360. The Exchange Index ended the week at 1,176.73 -- up by 4.99 on the day.

Unusually for the Exchange, the value of bonds traded during the week, which came to $487,666, outstripped the value of stocks, which amounted to $337,080.

Dividends declared on Friday were: Bank of Bermuda, 20 cents; Bermuda Computer Services, 20 cents; Kentucky Fried Chicken (Bermuda), 40 cents; Argus Insurance, 12 cents; BF&M, 10 cents; BF&M nine percent preference stock, 22.5 cents; Belco, 25 cents; and Telco, 50 cents.

A new listing appeared on the Exchange for the first time on Friday for the mutual fund Maritime Investments Fund.
