scolded him and sentenced him to nine months at the Westgate Correctional Facility.

Adam King, of My Lord's Bay, admitted stealing $50 from a man at the Hamilton Bus Terminal and assaulting him. The incident took place on April 15.

According to Junior Crown counsel Veronica Gordon, King approached a man who was sitting on a bench at the terminal and asked for a dollar. The man went into his small bank pouch to retrieve a dollar when King snatched the pouch.

A struggle ensued between the two men during which a $50 bill from the pouch was dropped. King picked up the note, pushed the man to the ground and ran off. He was chased by others at the terminal and eventually apprehended by Police.

King apologised for his behaviour, saying: "I am sorry. I know what I did was wrong. I am willing to pay back the $50.'' Mr. King, however, on looking at King's criminal record, expressed his disappointment and gave him a stern telling off.

"You and I share the same last name and over the years I have been treating you like a son,'' he said. "But now I am cutting you off. You have brought enough distress to your mother.

"You are lucky. You should have been sent to Supreme Court for robbery in this matter. You are very lucky to be charged with theft. What you actually did was robbery.

"I told you to go home and look in the mirror, but the mirror must have been broken because you should have seen an ugly man.'' King came to court with a three-month suspended prison sentence hanging over his head in relation to forging and uttering cheques.

Mr. King activated the sentence and imposed another six-month prison term for the bus terminal theft and two months for unlawful assault.

The two-month term is to run concurrently with the six months, but consecutive to the three-month prison term.
