A spokesman said the station received a call on Saturday at 10 p.m. reporting a fire at Prospect Primary School.

One vehicle and six firemen were sent to the Devonshire school and found a burning pile of wooden pallets on its playing field. The fire was extinguished before it caused any property damage.

Almost three hours later at 12.58 a.m., two vehicles and ten personnel responded to a single vehicle accident on North Shore Road near C-Mart where a Hyundai car had collided with a stone pillar and overturned.

The spokesman said the car was damaged to the tune of $10,000 while the driver -- a 20-year-old Pembroke man -- escaped with cuts and bruises.

At 1.47 a.m., two vehicles and ten firemen responded to another accident on North Shore near Shelly Bay where a cycle had collided with the rear of a car and caught on fire.

The blaze was extinguished after causing some $2,000 damage to the bike while the car had some minor damage to its rear.
