The Warwick resident was listed in stable condition yesterday after having his scalp cut to the bone in the Thursday night attack.

The 35-year-old man told Police he was walking home along Ord Road when he was attacked from behind.

In addition to the head wound, he received a cut to his lip which also cut five of his teeth, and other injuries.

The suspect is described as light brown-skinned, of medium build, clean shaven and about five feet, 11 inches tall.

A spokesperson at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital said the man was in stable condition on a general ward.
