A Police spokesperson said: "The complainant said that she awoke around 4 a.m. to find an unknown male standing inside her bedroom doorway. She challenged the intruder, then fled the room and went outside.'' The woman said the thief made a brief search of her bedroom drawers before leaving through a rear door.

Police think the culprit might have gained entry though an unlocked window.
