Much of the decline came on Thursday, when the Exchange lost almost 10 points, wiping out some small gains made earlier.

That was due largely to the dramatic fall in Watlington Waterworks shares, which dropped $6.25 to close at $4.75.

Other shares to lose ground included Bank of Butterfield, off 25 cents to $13 on volume of 4,536 and BF&M, down 62.5 cents to $6.125 on volume of 274.

The falls offset gains by Commercial Bank, which gained 75 cents to close at $12 on volume of 13,619 and Bermuda Broadcasting, up 25 cents to close at $5.25 on volume of 173.
