Tracy Wright sewed up his second consecutive first-place finish when he won the Lindo's Five-Mile Road Race in 26 minutes and 22 seconds yesterday.
Wright, coming off a victory in the Five Flat Miles Road Race, continued to enjoy a fine season, which got off on the right foot when he finished second in the ADT Bermuda Half-Marathon.
Also keeping a torrid pace is Jennifer Fisher, first-place finisher in the women's division while clocking 30:14.
Fisher was first female in last week's race and was the favourite heading into yesterday's competition.
Wright shaved 14 seconds off last year's winning time of 26:36 held by Kavin Smith, who did not run yesterday.
The race, organised by Mid Atlantic Athletic Club, featured a new route because of road construction along South Shore Road.
Finishing second in the male division was Kevin Tucker who clocked 27:15 while Harry Patchett was third in 28:20.
Second in the women's division was Melanie Claude in 33:14. Mary Meehan clocked 33:46 to finish third.
Patchett was also top runner in the male masters category, followed closely behind by Rod Allen (28:49) and Jeremy Ball (29:22).
Debbie Butterfield was the first runner to cross the finish line among female masters, posting a time of 32:09. Peggy Couper finished second (36:00) and Caroline Jones was third (39:16).
In the senior men's division, Giorgio Zanol was first in 32:46 while Clarence Smith (37:37) and Richard Jenkyn (40:44) were second and third.
Mark Constable finished first in the male Under-19 category in 30:17 with Kalvin Bean second in 33:10 and Jahmarley Samuels third while clocking 34:46.
In the women's Under-19 division, Freedom Trott led the way in 43:27 while Sherri Seymour (43:31) and Juleen Rovakowski (48:29) were second and third.
TRACY WRIGHT -- Comfortable winner yesterday.
