involving about 50 youths yesterday afternoon.

Police received numerous calls claiming that a gang confrontation was taking place on Alexandra Road, Devonshire at about 1.30 p.m. Concerned callers said some gang members were armed with baseball bats and knives.

Although Police initially found no evidence of an incident, they returned to the scene 15 minutes later and subsequently arrested two people. As The Royal Gazette went to press last night Police were still unable to confirm details of the incident.

A Police spokeswoman said: "When Police arrived at the scene just before 1.30 p.m. the disturbance was over.

"However, a second call approximately 15 minutes later resulted in two persons being arrested, one person possibly wounded and a private vehicle damaged.''
