Mr. Colin Curtis, St. John Ambulance's chairman of the council in Bermuda, has been asked to speak at the order's conference in Bournemouth, England, on September 30.

Mr. Curtis said the conference would be an excellent opportunity not only to talk about St. John Ambulance in Bermuda but to talk about Bermuda in general.

More than 7,000 members from all over the world are expected to attend the conference which is held every few years.

Mr. Curtis said he hoped to be able to provide the conference with some new ideas about St. John Ambulance and the Island.

He said he also hoped to be able to bring some new ideas back to the Island which would benefit the community.

Mr. Curtis thanked the Department of Tourism for their help, in particular its Public Relations Manager Mr. Charles Webbe.

Mr. Webbe, who organised slides of the Island for Mr. Curtis said any time some one was going abroad to speak to a group of that stature, the department tried to lend assistance.
