At about 11 p.m. on Friday the man was walking to his car, parked in the City Hall car park, when he was approached by two youths.

They snatched his car keys and then demanded money for their return. The man handed a small amount of cash across, but refused to give more.

He was then hit in the face and had a gold chain stolen by the youths who ran off.

Police are appealing for help in tracing a stolen white Mitsubishi van, registration number, L1467, and with the words Pied Piper on the side, which disappeared from a house near Langton Hill on Friday night. Anyone with any information should contact the Police on 295-0011.

A 36-year-old Smith's Parish man was treated in the King Edward VII Hospital last Friday evening following a fight with another man in the Devil's Hole area. The victim was apparently hit on the head with a piece of piping during the fight.
