drug importer Clifton Hopeton Morrison is headed for his fourth trial on January 15.

Morrison, 40, of St. Ann's Parish, Jamaica, has been in custody since February, 1999 on charges he imported $300,000 worth of cocaine. He has had two full trials, one ending in conviction which was turned over on appeal and one in a hung jury.

Another trial was delayed due to deaths in the families of the judge and his lawyer, Victoria Pearman, but it was later abandoned due to a lack of jurors.

Chief Justice Austin Ward set a "fixed'' date of January 15, but set down Morrison's case for November 15 if another trial does not go ahead.

Also during arraignment recently in the Supreme Court, Beverly Ann Pitt and Maki Hakim Bean pleaded not guilty to importation of heroin and possession with intent to supply on August 27, 1998.

Bean also denies a charge of obstructing a Police officer from the same date.

Pitt, 43, of Bowe Lane, Southampton, and Bean, 23, of Shelton Road, Devonshire, were released on $5,000 bail with one surety.
