The vehicle was left unattended for about half an hour and when the owners returned they discovered that a handbag left in the vehicle had been searched and a quantity of cash had been stolen.

More cash left in a diary was also taken along with two juice boxes.

A shoplifter got away with two queen-sized bed sheets after walking out of the Marketplace store at about 7.30.p.m. on Saturday.

The man is described as dark brown, about 5ft 8in and of medium build. He was wearing a striped shirt and dark jeans.

Police were also called to the Esso city service station in the early hours of yesterday after staff claim they saw a customer leave the store with various foodstuffs without paying.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene. And a 57-year-old St. George's man is being questioned by Police in connection with a number of fishing offences.

The man was seen hauling a quantity of fish traps from various locations in the reef area off Fort St. Catherine's. He was later seen carrying two large sacks of lobsters to his car. Police recovered the lobsters.
