Weekly Stocks Update The Bermuda Stock Exchange index closed the week 104.123 points higher than it began, as it climbed 6.11 percent higher, pushing
2,007,397.88, as eight issues finished the week higher and none declined. The most significant changes included an 87.5 percent increase in the Bank of Bermuda Ltd. Warrants, which rose a total of $7 to close at $15 on a volume of 6,080. Bermuda Commercial Bank Warrants `01 rose 600 percent from $0.125 to $0.875, gaining 75 cents on a volume of 2,465, after having not traded in 11 months. Bank of Bermuda stock gained 11.27 percent or $4 during the week, finishing at $39.50 as 22,601 shares traded. Shares were actually traded at $40 during the week. Bank of Butterfield stock gained 50 cents or 2.78 percent, closing at $18.50 after 43,368 shares changed hands. Kentucky Fried Chicken stock also beefed up 75 cents or 17.65 percent to $5 on a volume of 1,000. A record high was established during the week, when the index rose to 1,709.2983, before falling back Friday to 1,705.04.
