Cyclist badly hurt in crash
bus and a bike.
The 22-year-old and his passenger both suffered serious head injuries after their auxiliary cycle was in collision with a bus on the Crow Lane roundabout near Hamilton.
The rider was yesterday listed as "critical but stable'' in the intensive care unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
His 20-year-old passenger, transferred yesterday from intensive care to a general ward, was described by a hospital spokeswoman as "stable.'' A Police spokesman, who declined to name the injured men, said the cause of the accident, which happened just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, was under investigation.
The accident caused early evening traffic chaos, with the roundabout closed off while Police examined the scene, then cleared away the smashed bike and the bus, which had front end damage.
