Mr. Richardson, a Bermudian, joined the Bank's finance and planning division in 1988 and has held a variety of senior management positions since then.

He was most recently senior vice president of retail clients and apart from his 1997 secondment to the Bank's Asian and European offices, has been involved in its retail banking business since July 1994.
