Talking about quality
February 15.
Canadian engineer Mr. Ken Scott has been invited to speak on the topic by the Bermuda Quality Awareness Team.
Mr. Scott is the site mechanical engineer at the Tynes' Bay incinerator.
He was also a project engineer with ICI Canada and Shell Canada.
His talk, "Quality In The Trenches'', takes place at the training and resource centre at the Department of Personnel Services in Global House, Church Street. It will be held between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.
The quality awareness team was formed to throw up ideas on improving performance at work.
A spokeswoman said the team had 200 members.
"Employers try to improve quality by different methods.'' she said.
The Bank of Bermuda, for example, gave employees special awards for their performance, she added.
"Although Mr. Scott works at Tynes' Bay he won't be talking about the facility,'' she said. "He will speak about his experience on implementing quality.''
