delayed as defence lawyers seek out expert witnesses.

Murder accused Jermaine Noel Pearman, 26, and manslaughter accused Sharina Anne Tuzo, 18, both of Bob's Valley, Sandys Parish, have denied killing Saed Rami Nadir on August 29, 1997.

Tuzo was the baby's godmother.

The Supreme Court trial was adjourned last month because an expert defence witness was unavailable.

And on Thursday, Kevin Bean -- speaking for Pearman's lawyer Victoria Pearman -- told Acting Chief Justice Norma Wade-Miller there was further uncertainty about the availability of another overseas expert witness.

Tuzo, who is represented by Philip Perinchief, was released on bail. Pearman was held in custody. They will both appear for mention again next month.

Also returning for mention next month will be suspected cocaine smugglers Richard Ricardo Steede and Lang Onley, both of Hamilton Parish.

A $10,000 bail was extended for Onley, 38, of Great Bay Road. But Steede, 37, of Kitty's Drive, was remanded in custody.

And Mrs. Wade-Miller set a tentative trial date of May 10 for 22-year-old Kamell Wendell Trott.

Trott, of Kitty's Lane, Hamilton Parish, pleaded not guilty yesterday to unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and attempting to corrupt a witness last November.
