according to prospective mayor candidate E. Michael Jones.

"A lot of people have asked me to run for the position and my interest has certainly been raised,'' Town Crier Mr. Jones told The Royal Gazette yesterday.

"I'm still considering running for the post at this stage but I do have a number of ideas for steps to take with the town,'' he added.

"And it's made all the more exciting with St. George's possibly becoming a World Heritage site.

"From what I can tell it should be a very exciting election and I'm looking forward to it.'' If Mr. Jones decides to run for Mayor, currently held by Lois Perinchief, he will be challenged by at least one other person, Ross Smith, unlike the recent Corporation of Hamilton elections in which there was only one candidate for mayor.

The elections will be held on October 4.
