and control of a cycle while being impaired on January 17.

John Anthony Pimental, of 11 Frith Home Gardens, told Senior Magistrate Will Francis in last week's Magistrates' Court that Police should only have talked to him and realised he had no intentions to ride the cycle and then let him go.

Pimental said: "They should have talked to me. They would have seen that I had no intentions of riding and just put me into a taxi. I was illegally arrested. This could have been avoided.'' After Mr. Francis explained the difference between riding the cycle and having its care and control, Pimental maintained his not guilty plea and will be tried on May 17.

He also denied refusing or failing to provide a breath sample.
