The deal was signed yesterday, part owner Roxy Kaufmann said. Warren Brown, chairman of Island Press, and his wife Ann, are also owners of the company.

Island Press owns the weekly Bermuda Sun newspaper.

Mrs. Kaufmann has been managing Preview, which was formed by herself and the Browns 38 years ago.

Mrs. Kaufmann will stay on as a consultant to a new sales team put in place by Island Press. The company plans to put out a "first in complementary guide books'' this year, she said.

Preview also owns a 50 percent stake in Bermuda Cruise Publications Ltd., which produces an annual guide to all cruise boats in Bermuda. The other 50 percent is owned by Bermudian Publishing Co. and This Week in Bermuda.

"I think there are always a few regrets when you have been 38 years in the advertising business,'' Mrs. Kaufmann said in response to a question. "But I think it's important to stop when you're on top. It will be an ongoing concern with new people with fresh ideas.'' NEWSPAPER MAGAZINE NJ
