Southampton Princess Hotel, taking over from Mr. Eric Brooks, who is returning to the United States.

Mr. Stephen Barker, regional vice president of Princess Properties International Ltd., said: "We are delighted to have recruited a man with such a wealth of diversified experience.'' Mr. Timmel was most recently general manager of the Peninsula in New York, and held similar positions at the Manila Peninsula and the Marco Polo, in Singapore.

He has also held senior positions in top class hotels in Europe, Canada and Hawaii.

Mr. Timmel is married to Christa and has two children.

The Southampton Princess is arguably the Island's best hotel and is included in Conde Nast Traveler magazine's top 20 resorts in the world list.
