the Bermuda Exchange Index by almost five points in heavy trading.

The Butterfield shares, which had slipped to $24 after peaking at $27 earlier this year, improved to their highest point since early May on volume of 6,294 shares.

The Exchange index improved to 1005.66, up 4.98 on the strength of the trade.

Going down were Government 6.5 percent bonds which slipped 25 cents to $103 on volume of 1000 units.

Bank of Bermuda shares held again at $46 on volume of 1,081 shares, while Argus Insurance was also unchanged at $11.50 on volume of 150 shares.*l
