Dill gets Human Affairs job
to Director of the Department of Human Affairs.
Major Dill, executive officer of the HRC since 1987, has been acting Director since January 1 following the retirement of Director Lowdru Robinson.
A Government press release explained: "Mr. Dill will work under the policy direction of the Minister of Development, Opportunity and Government Services to provide executive support to the Minister, to ensure the effective implementation of programmes and activities relating to the human affairs aspect of his portfolio.
"In particular Major Dill will be responsible for managing those Government departments that have been established to develop and implement strategies to improve race relations in the community.
"This will involve co-ordinating programmes through the Human Rights Commission and the Commission for Unity and Racial to provide an understanding of racism and how it can be overcome.'' Major Dill will also advise on the National Drugs Commission and the Parish Councils, while the heads of the Consumer Affairs Bureau, the Small Business Development Corporation, Government Training and Employment Services and the National Training Board will report to him.
