Cat group starts fundraising drive
1,000 cats since it began three years ago, is launching its first major funds drive.
A raffle and luncheon on Sunday will help raise funds that are desperately needed to help BFAB feed and sterilise feral cats. Sterilisation operations can cost up to $70 for a female and $40 for a male.
Yearly, it costs BFAB up to $40,000 to perform the operations. Otherwise, a female cat may produce up to 24 kittens a year.
Yesterday BFAB president Mrs. Loretta Weir urged the public to support the efforts of the charity by donating funds and volunteering. more.'' Tickets for a raffle are to be drawn on Sunday at a luncheon at Ascots restaurant. They are available from Phase I, the Supermart and from pet stores and veterinarians Island wide. Lunch tickets cost $30 and are available by calling 236-6837.
