Company promises safety net for on-line businesses

A newly formed Bermuda-based risk manager, the Hart Group, has joined forces with a top provider of cyber intelligence and e-security services for a new secure way to do business on the net.

The deal involves combining the physical securities of the Hart Group with iDefense's internet control systems which they say will to do battle with the unforeseen threats and traps lying in wait in cyberspace.

The joint venture will provide a full range of risk management services to Hart's clients on-line.

A release from the companies said iDefense will become the preferred provider of network security, intelligence, cyber risk management and certification services to the Hart Group, its clients and members.

The Hart Group in turn will provide iDefense clients and prospects with their way of approaching risk management and physical security.

According to the release the two companies will combine service offerings for existing clients, and actively market the full-range of cyber and physical risk management services to prospects.

iDefence clients include Citigroup, Microsoft as well as numerous government clients including the US Department of Defense, Department of Navy, the US Coast Guard, Department of Agriculture, and the British Ministry of Defence.

Formed at the end of 1999, Hart says it has created a new strategy for the reduction, transfer and exchange of risk from physical or financial loss resulting from political, criminal or other actions.
