Martin to head advisory board
head an international telecommunications advisory body to Government.
Telecommunications Minister Renee Webb yesterday said the advisory body would advise the ministry on international issues affecting the sector so Bermuda could get up to speed.
She said the body would be made up of about nine members whom she was in the process of choosing. Ms Webb said the body would help guide Bermuda forward on ensuring it was on the forefront of telecommunications technology.
She said the advisory body would be made up of members from outside the telecommunications industry, those who were customers rather than providers.
In commenting on Mr. Martin's talk yesterday criticising the slow pace of change in the telecommunications sector, Ms Webb said Bermuda had fallen behind in providing services.
"Things do move rather slowly in many areas in Bermuda.'' BUSINESS BUC
