Unbeaten throughout all league and cup competitions, Telecom seek to add icing to the cake tonight when they play Rude Girls in the Women's FA Cup final at National Stadium (9 p.m.).

Michael Johnson, coach of the newly-crowned league champions was, however, cautiously optimistic about his team's standing heading into the contest, with injuries and other player absentees points of concern.

"Basically we're looking forward to taking back the cup we lost last year,'' said Johnson, in his first year as coach. "We're hoping to do the double.'' To achieve this, Telecom will likely be without several key parts of the engine that has allowed them to motor through the field over the past season.

Earlene Wilkinson and Darcy Irwin each had their season's decimated by debilitating ankle injuries and are questionable for the match. Also, skipper Leslie Cherry has been advised to rest an ailing shoulder and her availability is likely to be a game time decision.

Others in limbo are Claudette Baisden and Terry Paynter, both off the Island.

"I'd say that we wouldn't go in feeling cocky about this as the make-up of our team has changed quite a bit,'' added Johnson. "Right now we are suffering from a few injuries and some key players are out. We have a few new young players stepping in to take those roles.'' Said Rude Girls coach Derek (Rocky) Bean: "We want to hold on to the title and I feel that we'll need to dominate the midfield and stop their key players. The girls are very high and keyed on this game.'' As captain, Christina Johnson leads from the front in her role of striker and main threat to the opposition's defence.

Meanwhile, centre back Erica Russell controls matters at the other end, attempting to blunt Telecom's often lethal attack.

The women's game will be preceded by a clash of the Premier League's top guns with Somerset and PHC contesting the League Cup at 7 p.m.
